I have had numerous questions about Talitha’s name originality. So I think, it is justified to have related post in here now .
The Truth is …. John and I never thought about any name in particular even though we knew we were expecting a girl back then. When she finally arrived …. We took almost 5 days to decide on a name and we never knew choosing a name can be ermmm ….. quite tedious. Of course, thats what everyone is going to address her ! Out of so many thousands of beautiful names …. selecting just 1 ? I leave you to ponder . The parents will get what i mean. Yeah we just wanted ONE name. Something unique, sharp, sweet , defining ,catchy, meaningful and easy… of course easy … considering the many races we have here in Singapore , We wanted to do her a favour by choosing a name less likely to be mispronounced. Of course the above criteria in selecting a name is what almost all parents will think of . We were not any different.
So the search went on ….. Co incidently, we always arrowed down a name starting with ” T ” and for myself in particular ..I always liked names of Hebrew, Greek and Sanskrit origin . Not against of our Tamil names. We have got fantastic names and wonderful meaning ones too . Its all a matter of preference and tastes.
Finally, We saw ” TALITHA”. It got into our grey matter almost instantly. Here what she means,
TALITHA
Is a name of Hebrew/Aramaic Origin
